A new performing arts school is offering free taster sessions to mark its arrival in Mansfield and Ravenshead.
Noodle Performance Arts is launching performing arts and dance classes for children from September.
Classes are suitable for children from walking age onwards and there are no compulsory uniforms or exams.
Initially, sessions will be taught at two venues — St Peter’s Centre, Mansfield, and The Centre at St Peter’s, Ravenshead – and more locations will be added in the future.
Noodle Performance Arts first began in Sheffield in 2011 and Mansfield is the first Noodle franchise.
Franchise owner Mel Thompson, a professional performer for more than 20 years, has performed all over the world, including working on cruise ships and at Disneyland Paris.
There are two toddler classes aimed at children from walking age to three – Noodle Tots, which focus on performing arts, and Ballet Tots, a gentle introduction to ballet.
The 30-minute sessions use action songs, music and movement and are designed for youngsters to enjoy with their parents.
The Ballet Tots session starts at 9.30am on Saturdays in Ravenshead, while Noodle Tots starts at 9.15am on Saturdays at St Peter’s Centre, Mansfield. From 10am to 11am on Saturdays in Mansfield, there will be a performing arts class for three to six-year-olds.
For older children there is NPA Academy, which teaches singing, dance and drama to young people in Year 3 of primary schools upwards. This will run from 4pm to 6pm on Fridays in Ravenshead.
There is also a ballet class for three to six year-olds, from 4pm to 4.45pm, on Tuesdays at Ravenshead.
Mel added: “I am looking to add more classes in different venues so if you are interested in going to a Noodle class near you, please get in touch to register an interest.”
The first Mansfield classes will start on Tuesday, September 6th and booking is open for free trial sessions. To find out more visit www.noodleperformancearts.com or call Mel on 07849 109418.
