March was a good news month for the Amazon Breast Cancer Support Group thanks to another Party in the Garden fundraiser hosted by Skegby couple John and Sharon Cooper.

After their 22nd party, supported by their generous family and friends, they raised £525, which they are pictured presenting to the charity’s chair, Beryl Perrin.

John and Sharon’s tireless fundraising began in 2015 and so far they have raised more than £9,000. The Amazons will use the latest donation to support breast cancer patient at King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton.

As well as hot and cold food and drinks, there was a quiz, raffle, and several games of card bingo.

Sharon and John thanked their helpers, some of whom had supplied raffle prizes.

Thanks went to Jan, Debbie, Geoff, Sylv, Ann, Harold, Jane, Don, Beryl, Angie and Alan, as well as family members John, Stacey and Michelle.

Beryl said: “The Amazons say a huge thank you to all the above, but particularly to the stars of the event, Sharon and John!”
