The Care Quality Commission has found the quality of care provided by Workwise Healthcare Ltd, Mansfield, to be outstanding overall following an inspection in December.

Workwise Healthcare provides support to people in their own homes in Mansfield and the surrounding area — and at the time of the inspection 120 people were using the service.

Inspectors said staff were caring and compassionate and people were provided with safe, responsive, caring, effective and well-led care.

Workwise Healthcare was rated outstanding overall and for being caring and responsive. It was rated good for being safe, effective and well-led.

Rob Assall-Marsden, CQC’s head of inspection for adult social care in the region, said: “Staff had an excellent understanding of people’s support needs and used skill and innovative methods to ensure they received personalised responsive care.

“Forethought and innovation was used to ensure people had the opportunity to take part in constructive activities that reflected their interests and life history.

“We observed positive, caring relationships between staff, people using the service and their relatives.

“The service provided exceptional end-of-life care. The provider trained two staff members to be end-of-life champions and the registered nurse for the service was a dementia friend. We saw people’s wishes for care at the end of their life were
discussed and the provider worked with other services to ensure these wishes were met.”
