Posted onPosted on 23rd Aug

Staff at a Sutton opticians are taking on a 25km walking challenge with the aim of raising more than £1,000 for a cancer charity.

Eight team members from the Specsavers’ store will attempt to complete the South Coast Ultra Challenge on 7th September — and want to raise £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The route they will tackle heads out along the South Downs Way and includes iconic landmarks such as Beachy Head, the Seven Sisters, and the Devil’s Dyke.

Store directors Michael Hinder and Sunny Boyal will lead the Sutton team, which also includes Carly Wright, Lisa Carlin, Jordan Butler, Natalie Johnson, Lauren Bromley and challenge organiser Sam Best.

Sam said: “Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer in some way, so we’re determined to raise as much as we can by stepping up to this challenge.

“We’d like to thank everyone who has already donated and hope we can reach our target before setting off.”

Macmillan Cancer Support provides specialist health care, information, and financial support to people affected by cancer. It also looks at the social, emotional, and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care.
