EDWINSTOWE man Nick Shaw (46) is aiming to raise more than £1,500 for deafblind children and adults by completing the London Marathon.
Mr Shaw, manager of a taxi firm, is running for Sense, the national deafblind charity, in memory of his father, Dennis Shaw who suffered with deteriorating eye sight in later life.
“This is my first London Marathon. It’s something I have always wanted to do,” he said.
“it’s wonderful to be able to run in memory of my father whilst also helping to support deafblind people and their families.”
Nick has already smashed his original £1,500 target and has now set himself a £2,000 challenge.
