Asquith Primary School youngsters got the chance to take penalties against Mansfield Town FC mascot Sammy Stag when members of the team visited the school.
Stags stars Nicky Hunt, Jamie McGuire and Jack Thomas took part in activities to mark improvement work at the school.
Edwinstowe-based construction company, Robert Woodhead Ltd is replacing roof coverings and carrying out damp proofing work, minor mechanical work, ceiling grid replacements, new lighting, the installation of a fire alarm and replacing doors.
Working alongside Woodhead is electrical contractor Lukes & Godwin. The firm’s owner, Steve Middleton, is a director at the Stags and invited players to meet the children.
As part of its commitment to working with local communities, Woodhead also held a drawing competition with pupils.
The winner was presented with tickets for a Mansfield Town game, donated by Lukes & Godwin.
Woodhead site manager Paul Cross said: “We have enjoyed working on Asquith School and are delighted to give something back to the pupils.”
