Do you know someone who has made a positive difference across Ashfield in the past year?

Nominations for this year’s Discover Ashfield Awards are now open.

Recognising all that is good in the district, the awards celebrate residents and businesses who have gone above and beyond to support the community during the past year.

This year’s awards reflect the Covid-19 pandemic with the introduction of new categories, including Covid-19 Hero and Covid-19 Young Hero, as well as awards up for grabs for health and wellbeing, science and best business.

Nominations can be made via the Ashfield District Council website and will recognise achievements between January and December 2020.

Coun Jason Zadrozny, leader of Ashfield District Council, said: “This year has been a challenging one for everyone and we want to recognise individuals, groups and businesses who have gone above and beyond to make a difference in our communities.

“If you know of someone who deserves recognition please take time to say thank you by nominating them for a Discover Ashfield Award.”

The closing date for nominations is Sunday, 28 February. The awards presentation will take place during March.
