Nominations are open for the annual Mansfield Volunteer Awards to reward local heroes in the community.
The award are supported by Mansfield District Council, Mansfield Community & Voluntary Service and Nottinghamshire County Council and there are seven categories:
•Young Person’s Award – for under 25s.
•Community Group Award – a group involved in community action.
•Emily Dawes Memorial Award – for a paid worker in the voluntary sector who has gone beyond the call of duty.
•Andrew Wallace Memorial Award – for an individual volunteering in the community.
•Margaret Wilson Memorial Award – for issue or cause-based contributions.
•Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award – for an individual completing exceptional or sustained actions.
•Business in the Community Award – a business thathas given voluntary time to support the voluntary sector (the nominator must be a representative of a voluntary sector organisation that has benefited).
Nominations close on Friday, 29 April. Winners and nominators will be invited to attend this year’s award ceremony, which will take place on Thursday, 9 June at the John Fretwell Sporting Complex in Sookholme.
