NHS patients supported to access digital health and care records at pop-up clinics

Posted onPosted on 17th Nov

Patients in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire were given support to access their health and care records online through the NHS App at countywide digital pop-up clinics.

Organised as part of Connected Nottinghamshire’s digital inclusion strategy and linking in with the national Get Online Week, the events were held at GP practices and community venues with each clinic open to members of the public. The overall aim was to support patients to register for the NHS App and understand the benefits to them of managing elements of their healthcare online, with practical help and workshops.

Rosie Atkin, project implementation manager, said: “It has been very pleasing for the team to meet people of different ages and backgrounds seeking support to manage their healthcare online. Being able to manage appointments, order repeat prescriptions, get their Covid pass, directly message their GP and receive letters directly from their healthcare provider is of real benefit to our patients across the region, so being able to help facilitate this has been really rewarding.

“It is a key part of our work to empower people to take control of their healthcare through the NHS App, so it has been a successful series of events.”

Rosie added: “We are also keen to work with other GP practices and healthcare settings to further support and enable Nottingham and Nottinghamshire citizens to access this fantastic app. If anyone would like us to attend their event or arrange a clinic for people in their community, they can email the team at [email protected].”
