New twist on traditional tale through dance

Posted onPosted on 17th Oct

Joss Arnott Dance is presenting a new retelling of a classic story when Tin Man comes to the Palace Theatre, Mansfield, for two performances at 11am and 2pm on Thursday, 2nd November.

A dance production for families and children aged seven and over, the show reimagines the story of the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz, the much-loved character’s encounters with the Witch in the deep dark wood, and the new friendships they form with a Scarecrow and a Lion along the way.

The adjacent Mansfield Museum is running Tin Man themed craft sessions on 2 November.

After the show there is the chance to meet the cast and characters, and get your picture taken with Tin Man, Lion and the Witch in the theatre foyer.

Tickets cost £7 adult / £5 child if you quote ‘family fun’ online at mansfieldpalace.co.uk or via the Box Office on 01623 463133.

The show is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, the Royal Philharmonic Society with funding from the RPS Drummond Fund and PRS Foundation’s The Open Fund for Organisations. Co-commissioned by DanceEast, Swindon Dance, Pavilion Dance South West and Kala Sangam, it is backed by the University of Sheffield Enable US Project and the University of Salford.
