Some of the proceeds of Warsop Inner Wheel Club president Terry Newton-Snare’s year in office were handed over at an induction evening for her successor, Sharon Smith.
Terry, whose chosen charity was the Alzheimer’s Society, said: “I have had a fabulous year. Inner Wheel is one of the best and most rewarding things I have been privileged to be part of.”
Terry is pictured, centre, with John Fretwell, from Warsop Sporting Trust, which received £550; Alison Collier, from Oaklands, which was presented with £1,000; Danielle Hindle, from the Alzheimer’s Society, which received £5,000; and Sharon Smith.
As a cancer survivor, Sharon, has chosen Cancer Research as her charity for the forthcoming year. At the induction she thanked the outgoing president for her hard work.
Sharon introduced her new committee and presented them with Inner Wheel badges. They include Helen Tomlinson, Doreen Granger, Lynne Gough, Christine Fretwell, Janet Marples, Elaine Hopkin, Ruth Riches and vice-president Gloria Humphries.
Her first fundraising event was a tea and cake tent at Warsop Carnival.
Special guest was the Major of Mansfield, Kate Allsop, with the new club president.
