A new competition has been launched by Mansfield District Council to find the best-kept garden and best school garden in the district.
The competition is open to all residents and schools.
There will be cash prizes for the top three entries in the two categories.
Judging will take place from 18th July to 12th August 2016. Winners will be invited to the Mansfield BID Garden Festival in early September for the presentation of certificates and prizes.
To enter, fill in an entry form at the Civic Centre or at www.mansfield.gov.uk/bestkeptgarden before 1st July.
Coun Andrew Tristram, portfolio holder for the environment at Mansfield District Council, said: “This competition is designed to get residents and schools outside and into their gardens to create an attractive and environmentally-friendly space.
“Gardening also has the added benefits of reducing stress and improving fitness.
“We hope this competition will not only appeal to experienced gardeners, but will encourage new gardeners.”
