National award for schools trust

Posted onPosted on 23rd Jul

The Flying High Partnership, which supports 34 primary schools in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, has been recognised at a national awards ceremony for its service to education.

It won the Transformation and Impact accolade at the MAT Excellence Awards and gala dinner in Solihull. The awards celebrate excellence and impact in multi-academy school trusts across the country.

Flying High was shortlisted in two categories.

Chief executive Chris Wheatley said winning the award reflected the DNA of the trust. “It’s what makes our work extra special,” he added.

“We aim to make every day count for every pupil that we come into contact with. We have never been timid about working in challenging areas, and we have the same high aspirations for all of our children.

“We are delighted to accept the award on behalf everyone who works so hard at Flying High schools.”

Locally, Flying High runs Bilsthorpe Flying High Academy; Peafield Lane Academy, Mansfield Woodhouse; Forest Glade Primary and Nursery School, Leamington Primary School, and Mapplewells Primary and Nursery School, Sutton; The Flying High Academy, Ladybrook, Mansfield; and Greenwood Primary and Nursery School, Kirkby.
