Muddy marvellous support for the community!

Caring colleagues at Mansfield business Plastek UK have raised hundreds of pounds for two good causes.

Plastek Warriors (above), a group who regularly tackle physical challenges for charities, took on a Tough Mudder in Skipton, Yorkshire — their most difficult event yet.

Nine members of staff made the journey, including two new Warriors, business development manager Ryan Hunnam and maintenance manager Chris Duffy.

Other team members were customer service manager Danielle Harkness, maintenance engineer Mike Jones, material handler Seb Mclaine, quality auditor Joe Salisbury, warehouse team leaders Daniel Fisher and Paul Brown, and warehouse belt driver Rob Morton.

They were supported by the company, which provided transportation, branded T-shirts and hoodies, and energy snacks and drinks.

Danielle said: “Despite the degree of difficulty and a significant amount of mud to be removed, we had a great time and raised £460 for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

“To raise a significant amount of money for a great charity is a great thing in itself, but this was also a fabulous and very worthwhile team-building opportunity, especially for Chris and Ryan who are very new to the business.

“Hopefully getting drenched and filthy for a good cause won’t make them regret their choices!”
