Sutton resident Moira McCullagh is in the running to win MyBuilder’s Magical Garden Makeover competition, for a garden that would finish the work her late husband started and change her life.

But she needs your votes to get the professionals in…

MyBuilder.com, an online marketplace for homeowners to find quality tradesmen, is looking for the worthiest winner of a Magical Garden Makeover, with the prize of a total garden transformation up for grabs.

Over 1,400 homeowners from all over the UK have shared their stories of garden woes, telling MyBuilder what winning the prize would mean to them.

Members of the public have already cast over 20,000 votes so far and Sutton resident Moira explained just how much it would mean to her: “My husband tried so hard to make my life easier. He wanted to make the garden somewhere that I could relax and get respite from the pain, but sadly his ideas did not happen and when he died last year he left me with a disaster of a garden, full of unfinished tasks.

“The recent storms broke a lot of items making things even worse. I have a lot of medical conditions that restrict my mobility, cause a lot of pain and restrict my life. I spend almost all my time alone in the house because going out is too difficult.

“I would love to go into the garden but it’s not safe. The step is too high and the surfaces unsafe to walk on as I am unsteady on my feet. I get depressed because I love being outside and seeing the flowers and birds but I don’t have any flowers, and can’t sit outside.

“If my garden could be made safe and have flowers I could go out and enjoy it and my life would be so much happier. I could look forward to a brighter future, and would see my husband’s wishes fulfilled.”
