Miss Mansfield gets on board with Time for a Cuppa campaign

Determined Mansfield beauty queen Amy Sunderland has continued to raise money for Dementia UK since smashing her £5,000 charity target earlier this year.

Amy, the reigning Miss Mansfield and Sherwood Forest in July, visited 15 places on 6th March as part of her Time for a Cuppa campaign in aid of Dementia UK.

She sold cakes kindly baked and donated by Cakefield-Cakes Tea Room and The Sweet Cookie Company, raising a further £700 — taking her overall total to £6,600.

“It was great to get involved in the local community and speak about my fundraising work and spread awareness about dementia. I met some lovely people,” said Amy.

In Edwinstowe she visited Alexandra’s hair salon, Hair Design & Beauty Box, Edwinstowe Pharmacy, the playgroup at Edwinstowe Village Hall and Woodhead Enterprise and Premier Security 24/7 UK at Edwinstowe House.

In Mansfield, Amy went to Kingfisher Court Care Home, a dementia coffee morning at Mansfield Town Football Club, Mansfield Fire Station, the office of Mansfield MP Ben Bradley, Just Move estate agents, Studio 29, and Quiz Clothing and The Hive in the Four Seasons Shopping Centre.

Amy said: “I would like to thank everyone who supported me on the day.”

A medical secretary with the NHS, she plans to travel to Mansfield in Ohio, USA, in June as a guest at the Miss Ohio Scholarship Programme.
