Marathon man’s charity appeal

Lifelong Mansfield man Sam Lee completed the Liverpool Rock n Roll Marathon in aid of a charity, Olivia’s Vision.

Sam (20), who ran the marathon in under four hours, has appealed for more people to back his efforts at uk.virginmoneygiving.com/SamLeee

So far he has had more than £900 pledged for the cause, which helps to raise funds for research, specialist training, awareness and support for uveitis sufferers.

There are 9,000 new cases of the condition, an inflammation of the eye, every year in the UK and it is the third leading cause of blindness.

The namesake of the charity, Olivia, lost her sight in one eye aged nine. She is now 15 and is studying for GCSEs.
