Mansfield Rotary has thanked the public for its support of the club’s Christmas sleigh in December, when it could be seen outside supermarkets, in the town centre and around the streets of the district.
A total of £6,580.74 was raised during collections, which president Andy Campin said would be spent carefully in supporting many good causes.
“Once again young children gave us their pocket money, senior citizens gave us the change from their pockets or purses, some gave just a few coins, others put in notes, some used texts, and others made online donations. All of these added up to an incredible collection,” he added.
“It seemed that everyone was aware of the increasing needs of others in these harsh times and continued to give to help others worse off than themselves.”
Mansfield Rotary had a new sleigh in 2023 year and Andy said it was important to acknowledge again the incredible support the club has had from several local businesses, who funded the construction of the new sleigh.
“Laser Ltd, Quickits Ltd and Premier Powder Coatings, all part of the QK Group; TrimJim Custom Upholstery, and Richard Austin Alloys came together and were involved in building our wonderful sleigh,” he added.
“Total Integrated Solutions Ltd (TIS) again helped this year with upgrading the lighting. TIS also used their contacts with the Sandicliffe motor group, who supplied a flatbed vehicle to Santa for three weeks so that the sleigh could get around many streets across Mansfield. Instagrid again lent us a battery pack to power the lighting and sound system.”
