Mansfield nurse heads up Sports Relief fundraiser

Posted onPosted on 6th Mar

A high stepping Mansfield nurse will be leading the fundraising efforts for Sport Relief at Barlborough NHS Treatment Centre on Friday, 13th March.

Head of nursing Elaine Bodle will be inviting patients and visitors to join a day of fun and fundraising, including a sports-themed raffle, with prizes including two tickets to a Premiership football match, tickets to ice hockey and basketball games as well as rounds of golf and footgolf, along with vouchers and other prizes.

The centre’s team will be dressing up in sports gear and making a donation for the charity that supports more than 2,000 projects in the UK and around the world, mainly aimed at tackling malaria, supporting new mothers and helping those with mental health issues.

There will also be a best-dressed competition that will be judged by the patients on the ward after a parade by contestants.

Elaine said: “We are going all-out to raise money for Sport Relief. There will be a cross-trainer in Reception, helping us to raise money through sponsorship. We hope to stride continuously throughout the day with volunteers taking turns and everyone, including me, putting their best foot forward.”
