Mansfield Library café to officially reopen on Saturday

Posted onPosted on 27th Apr

The official opening of the new café at Mansfield Library will take place on Saturday, 30 April.

After a complete refurbishment, local catering company Mrs B’s has moved into the mezzanine floor in the heart of the library.

Mrs B’s offers hot drinks (including 200 Degrees Coffee) , snacks and light refreshments, and catering services to both external customers and those who hire the library‘s meeting, theatre and conference spaces.

The chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council will join the official opening and a cake-cutting ceremony at 10.30am. In addition, the whole library will be taken over by a host of free and fun activities for both adults and children, including a circus skills workshop, badge making, and a special Rattle, Rhyme and Roll session to warm up your vocal chords.

Amongst the guests will be artist Michelle Reader, who will be helping people get creative and make a sculpture out of recycled materials, and Bookstart Bear!

In addition to the café, the library offers a dedicated children’s library, work and study areas with free Wi-Fi, a professional art gallery with a programme of touring exhibitions, a gift shop, and a regular programme of events, courses, and activities.

Peter Gaw, Inspire CEO, said: “We’re excited to finally have Mansfield Central Library’s café up and running again, and to welcome Mrs B’s into the new space. Our aim has always been to make the central library a place to spend more time to read, learn and enjoy culture, and the café is a great addition to the service offer.”

Mrs B’s added: “It’s really great to move into the new café, and we’re looking forward to hitting the ground running. Through our catering services we provide individual lunches, snacks, homemade cakes, salads and healthy juices, and we’re looking forward to trying out our new menu and feeding plenty of customers here at the library.”
