Children can now enjoy top-quality play facilities at the award-winning George V Park on Black Scotch Lane, Mansfield, thanks to a £60,000 investment by Mansfield District Council.
The play area has been fitted with new equipment designed for youngsters aged from two through to young teenagers.
There are state-of-the-art swings, springers, rockers and a large multi-activity unit containing a slide, roundabout, educational panels and talking tubes.
There is also a colourful play surface containing a snakes and ladder game, while in the surrounding wooded area children can play on balancing mushrooms.
New litter bins have also been installed and families can use benches and picnic tables.
The equipment is part of a £202,250 improvement package for parks delivered by the council using contributions from developers of new residential developments sited close to the parks and open spaces.
Other projects include a £90,000 outdoor play area on Kings Walk open space off Berry Hill Lane, and the installation of £52,250-worth of outdoor gym equipment at Kings Walk and Racecourse Park.
