Macmillan gives Mansfield MP award for charity event

Ben Bradley MP has won an award for Most Creative Event after hosting a coffee morning to support Macmillan’s 30th anniversary coffee morning.

The Mansfield MP’s socially-distanced coffee morning took place in September outside his Parliamentary office, for MPs and their staff.

He filmed the whole day and posted a vlog on his YouTube channel to share with constituents. Ben also decorated gingerbread men on the day, which included making gingerbread versions of Ashfield MP, Lee Anderson, and the Prime Minister.

“It’s a real honour to have received an award from Macmillan. I’m delighted that the event was such a success and that I was able to share it online with constituents,” he said.

“Macmillan’s work is vital to communities across the country and they have supported many families in Mansfield.

“I’m pleased I was able to raise funds in a creative way. Lee wasn’t very pleased with my gingerbread interpretation of him, although his reaction matched the frown I had put on the gingerbread man. I think the resemblance was uncanny!

“On the plus side, at least the PM warmly welcomed his gingerbread man!”
