LTA’s Big Tennis Weekend coming to Mansfield

Posted onPosted on 17th Jun

There is a chance to pick up a racket and play tennis at the Big Tennis Weekend event on Saturday, 6th, at Mansfield Lawn Tennis Club, Pheasant Hill, from 1pm to 4pm.

A spokesperson said: “It is all about having fun. We can provide rackets and tennis balls, so anyone can come along and play. There will also be a chance to try one of the new racquet sports currently taking the UK by storm, Pickleball!

“Come and join us for a fun day out for all the family. There will be organised tennis sessions with our coach, Gareth, from NowTennis/ Inspire 2 Coach. We have five hard courts and four grass courts, so there will be plenty of space to give tennis a try. Light refreshments will be on sale, have a go in the tombola and raffle. There will also be special deals on membership packages available.”

You can sign up for sessions in advance at https://www.mansfieldtennis.co.uk/

Under 8 Mini Tennis A fun session for the next generation of tennis stars. Our coaching team will be on court to run a session of Mini tennis using soft balls and smaller courts. A great intro to tennis to develop key skills to take into the future.

9-17 Junior tennis Coaches will be on hand for a fun and active session, whether you are new to the club or a regular you are sure to have a good time.

Adult tennis Try our adult coaching taster session. Ideal for people new to the sport or who haven’t picked up a racket in a long time. You can borrow our rackets if you don’t have your own, just come prepared to hit a few balls and have some fun.

Pickleball is the new racquet and ball game taking the UK by storm. Come down to the club and give it a try. Members and non-members welcome. Supervised sessions running all afternoon

Free Play – If you don’t fancy a coaching session why not just try out our new facilities. You can book a slot on one of the courts for free!

This event is part of a national Big Tennis Weekend campaign promoted by the LTA taking place all over the country, encouraging thousands of people head to their local tennis courts for free.
