Lottery players thanked by MP

Posted onPosted on 18th Jun

Mansfield MP Ben Bradley has thanked National Lottery players for their role in raising much-needed funding for local charities and community groups.

Local groups received £77,669 of National Lottery funding last month to help them support the community through the Covid-19 outbreak.

Groups to have benefitted so far include Jigsaw Support Scheme and The Peaceful Trust.

Jigsaw Support Scheme will use the funding to provide telephone support and essential items for vulnerable people living with mental ill health and those living with dementia. This will enable participants to stay connected and improve their wellbeing during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The Peaceful Trust is running an essential delivery service of food and medication to residents in the community.

The funding is being distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK.

Information about how to apply for funding can be found at The National Lottery Community Fund’s website: www.tnlcommunityfund.org.uk.
