Local opticians put charity in focus

Posted onPosted on 8th Oct

A MANSFIELD opticians is hosting a fundraising event on Tuesday, 15th October to raise money for a local charity in memory of store director Imogen Hoyle (pictured).

Colleagues at Specsavers on West Gate are running a raffle for Maggie’s Nottingham, which offers free support and advice for people dealing with cancer.

In return for a donation visitors to the store will be able to enter a raffle to be in with a chance of winning prizes, including designer handbags, beauty gift sets, vouchers to use in store for hearing aids, designer glasses and more.

The staff, who will be wearing orange to represent Maggie’s, will also be holding a bake sale.

“We’re proud to be supporting Maggie’s,” Patrick Hegarty, store director at Specsavers Mansfield, said.

‘The charity is very close to our hearts as they were so supportive of Imogen and her family during her battle with cancer. ‘We knew we wanted to fundraise for Maggie’s and we’ve been bowled over by the support and prize donations from local businesses so far.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming the local community in-store to raise as much money as possible for such an inspiring organisation and encourage anyone who can to donate.”

Maggie’s was established in 1996 and operates calm and welcoming centres across the country for patients and loved ones dealing with cancer. For more information about the charity go to https://www.maggies.org

Entries to the raffle are a suggested £1 donation, which can be paid in cash at a Maggie’s collection pot in-store.
