Light Night expands on return to Carr Bank Park

Posted onPosted on 3rd Jan

An evening light and sound event that launched in 2024 is returning to Mansfield’s Carr Bank Park in February.

Light Night has expanded to include three themed areas to walk through, as well as a centrepiece in the park’s historic greenhouse.

A one-way illuminated trail will take visitors on a journey through Fairy Land, Enchanted Forest, and Carnival Discoland.

Mayor Andy Abrahams said: “What a spectacular way to kick off 2025! Light Night is a perfect opportunity to experience our parks in a magical new light and celebrate the beauty of winter in Mansfield. Don’t miss out on three days of fun and enchantment.”

Fairy Land will feature a wonderland of twinkling fairylights, while there is the chance to look for woodland animals in the Enchanted Forest. Carnival Discoland will offer illuminated arches and kaleidoscopic lights that dance to music.

This year’s centrepiece, Green Power Women, is a celebration of creativity and inspiration. Housed in the 1859 greenhouse, the display is a collection inspired by the medieval carvings of Southwell Minster, reimagined with a contemporary twist.

On Saturday 15th and Sunday, 16th February, Light Night — from 4.30pm to 8.30pm — will  include live performances from the Nottingham Samba Collective, face painting, walkabout entertainers, and a silent disco.

The lights will also run on Monday, 17th February.

Tickets, priced £2 for children (under-twos free) and £3 for adults, are available at www.mansfield.gov.uk/events/event/1433/mansfield-light-night-2025

Light Night 2025 has been supported by the government’s Towns Fund with support from Mansfield Cultural Services, Mansfield BID, and Cheeky Monkey Enterprises.
