Discount supermarket chain Lidl is set to open a new supermarket in Mansfield Woodhouse on Thursday, 10th December.

The Woodhouse Road store is expected to create around 40 jobs and will also send surplus food to local charities, including Mansfield Soup Kitchen and the Social Action Hub.

The charity donations will be part of Lidl’s Feed it Back scheme, which is run in partnership with Neighbourly and connects Lidl across the country with local charities, food banks, community cafes and kitchens, putting quality food surplus to good use every day.

Dominic Bryan, Lidl GB’s regional head of property, said: “We would like to thank all those who have played a part in bringing this new Lidl store to Mansfield. It is great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we are proud to serve the local community at this time.”
