A Sutton leadership coach is taking part in a charity event aimed at inspiring entrepreneurs.
Sophie Wragg will be sharing advice on how to stop putting off the inevitable, embrace change, and make sustainable choices that will benefit your life and your business.
The two-day Bee Inspired event at Manchester United’s ground on 29th and 30th September will raise money for The Fly Anyway Foundation, a charity that supports survivors of domestic violence who are looking to rebuild their lives and independence.
Sophie said: “This is a huge deal for me. Standing up on stage is one thing, but being part of an event of this size and gravitas is something else altogether.
“I am really excited to be sharing my message, but it’s also slightly nerve-racking. It would be lovely to see some friendly faces in the crowd, I really would love some local support!
“Earlier this year I made a commitment to myself to share my knowledge and story in a way that can have a positive impact on others and I’m excited to have an opportunity to do that.
“My business – Be Your Best Version – is very purpose-driven and so speaking within an event about empowerment and community and knowledge sharing to spark ideas is a great fit. I hope between us all we can inspire, motivate, and get people focusing on all the positives within their worlds, rather than getting totally bogged down in all the worries that currently surround us.”
Sophie is a leadership coach helping future-focused leaders to make choices that not only empower their people but also create a positive impact on the wider world around them, after seeing and experiencing first-hand the positive effects of good strong and inclusive leadership and the damaging effects of poor leadership.
Having worked in the NHS helping people at all levels of the organisation develop their leadership skills, both within her organisation and across the wider NHS, Sophie saw the merit of leadership development throughout all pay grades – but statistics show this isn’t common practice.
83% of organisations believe it’s important to develop leaders at every level of the company, only 5% of businesses have implemented leadership development at all levels and this is what spurred Sophie to follow her passion for leadership development and start her own business.
Sophie will take to the global stage on day two at Manchester to share what we do when tomorrow is today, giving people an insight into the psychology of change so they feel empowered to make sustainable choices in their lives and their business.
Sophie said: “I believe most people are worried about climate change and want to make greener, more sustainable and more ethical choices but they feel overwhelmed. I want to take that overwhelm away by helping people understand the psychology of change, what is holding them back and reminding them that they can make a difference. When people feel empowered and optimistic we can make positive changes, and together we will tackle the biggest threat of our existence, climate change.”
Bee Inspired organiser Dani Wallace said: “I can’t wait to see Sophie take to the stage – her message is so powerful and needs to be heard by more people! Public speaking fear (glossophobia) still sees the majority of people shy away from spreading their message in this way so Sophie is in a very small minority of people being brave enough to make an impact in this way. We need to get behind them with our support.”
Bee Inspired events are also a huge part of Dani’s fundraising for her charitable Foundation, The Fly Anyway Foundation (https://www.iamthequeenbee.co.uk/flyanyway), which supports survivors of domestic abuse in rebuilding their lives after breaking free from abusive relationships.
Having secured support from many global ambassadors, along with funding from; The National Lottery, Arnold Clarke , Lancashire County Council’s local members grant scheme and private donators for the Foundation, Dani and her team are now excited to be able to open the doors to the next round of ‘Business Builders’ – people who are ready to rebuild their lives by building a business, to create financial independence but who have gaps in their knowledge and skills.
The Fly Anyway Foundation matches those in need with businesses who can support them to help facilitate their growth. Business Builders who have already been supported by the Foundation will have a stand to showcase their business, for free at Bee Inspired, as part of the support provided and they will be on hand to speak to others about their experience as applications are opened up to support more people.
Dani’s five-year plan for The Fly Anyway Foundation, on the back of investment and funding received, will be launched at the event, giving businesses in the room the opportunity to also support further.
Tickets for the event are available from £99 + VAT and can be purchased via https://www.iamthequeenbee.co.uk/ sponsorship packages and exhibition spaces are also still available. For more info please email [email protected].
Alongside the talks well known brands such as Vodafone, Natwest, and Nestle will also be on hand to share knowledge and advice, supporting the attendees, alongside tech startup, V1ce, which has already got clients including Google, Emirates and McDonalds using their high tech interactive business cards.
