Jobs fairs coming to Mansfield and Ashfield

Two jobs fairs are coming up in Mansfield and Kirkby where job-seekers can find out about vacancies, training opportunities, careers, volunteering, apprenticeships and self-employment.

Ashfield and Mansfield district councils are joining forces with Vision West Nottinghamshire College and the Department for Work and Pensions to put on the free events.

The Mansfield fair is on Friday, 15th September, from 10am to 2pm, at Mansfield Library. It is being supported by Ben Bradley, MP for Mansfield.

The Ashfield fair, supported by Gloria de Piero, MP for Ashfield and Eastwood, is on Friday, 22nd September from 10am to 2pm at the Festival Hall, Hodgkinson Road, Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

Cllr Dave Saunders, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration and Growth at Mansfield District Council, said: “These job fairs will provide an excellent opportunity for people to find out about vacancies as well as career and training options from local businesses and educational providers.

“The events aim to raise awareness of what is available in the area and help people to understand more about the local jobs market. I would urge those seeking employment – and those looking to recruit – to come along and get involved.”

Ashfield District Council’s Deputy Leader, Cllr. Don Davis, added: “These events provide a valuable chance for residents to engage with prospective employers. Our previous job fairs have been extremely successful, with high numbers of people attending to find out what is on offer locally in terms of employment and training. We also welcome the support from the business community, especially those offering actual jobs.”
