Job fairs in Mansfield and Ashfield

Ashfield and Mansfield District Councils are joining forces with Vision West Nottinghamshire College and the Department of Work and Pensions to put on two job fairs.

Jobseekers will be able to find out about a range of job vacancies, training opportunities and career pathways, including volunteering, apprenticeship schemes and self-employment.

The Ashfield jobs fair, which is being supported by Gloria de Piero, is taking place on Friday, 9 September, from 10am to 2pm, at the Festival Hall, Kirkby. The Mansfield fair is on Friday, 23 September, from 10am to 2pm, at Mansfield Library.
A variety of support organisations will be attending. Both events are free and open to all.

Cllr Dave Saunders, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration at Mansfield District Council said: “These job fairs will provide an excellent opportunity for people to find out about job vacancies as well as career and training options from local businesses and educational providers.

“The events aim to raise awareness of what is available in the area and help people to understand more about the local job market. I would urge those seeking employment and those looking to recruit to come along and get involved.”

Ashfield District Council’s Deputy Leader, Cllr. Don Davis said: “These events provide a valuable chance for residents to engage with prospective employers. Previous Job Fairs have been extremely successful, with high numbers of people attending to find out what is on offer locally in terms of employment and training.

“I am looking forward to attending this year and seeing the variety and quality of businesses in attendance.”
