The Food Warehouse, a sister company of retailer Iceland, is to take on the former Laura Ashley and Toys R Us units at St Peter’s Retail Park, Mansfield.

Iceland said the new outlet was expected to open in the summer and would not affect its existing store in the town.

A spokesperson said: “The Food Warehouse offers a completely different shopping experience from our core Iceland stores and they both trade together in a growing number of towns across the country.

The Food Warehouse, which is described as Iceland’s ‘bigger little brother’ offers frozen, fresh, chilled and branded foods, as well as groceries. It is similar to a cash and carry.
