Housebuilder plans to bring new homes and community support to Calverton

A housebuilder has successfully finalised a land deal that will bring almost £5m of community and infrastructure investment and 351 new homes to Calverton.

The 13.3 hectares (33-acre) site, off Park Road, will incorporate 70 affordable properties and a selection of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes.

Financial contributions will include £2.5m for primary and secondary education, £196,000 for improvements to local primary healthcare, £347,000 towards public transport improvements and £35,000 to support nearby open spaces. In addition, a further £1.7m will be paid by Persimmon Homes for local public services, as part of the Community Infrastructure Levy.

Neil Follows, managing director for Persimmon Homes Nottingham, said: “We are pleased to be able to progress our Forest View development in Calverton. The site has been carefully designed to meet the needs of the local market.

“Located to the northern edge of the village, Forest View is a key development for us, and we are looking forward to supporting the community where we can.”

Work is expected to begin on the site soon and the Persimmon Homes team is working towards releasing its first homes in autumn 2021.

“As part of our ongoing strategic development across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, we are continually looking to expand our construction workforce and explore new land opportunities,” added Neil.
