A South Normanton-based hotel has chosen a Mansfield charity as one of its good causes to support at a fundraiser ball.
The Derbyshire Hotel, has chosen The Inspire and Achieve Foundation and a number of other local charities to support over the coming months through fundraising initiatives and a charity ball this October.
The ball, which will take place on the evening of 14 October, will feature entertainment from a Michael Bublé tribute act, a disco and a silent auction.
Guests will enjoy a three-course meal and tickets cost £30 per person which will see £15 going direct to the hotel’s chosen charities.
Human resources manager Angela Kemp said: “Last year we proudly raised over £8,000 for our chosen charities, so we hope to do even better this year.
“I’m very impressed with the level of support and guidance the Inspire and Achieve Foundation gives to young people wishing to make fresh starts to their lives and we’re delighted to be able to help them this year.
“We’re also seeking prize donations from any local businesses who may wish to contribute to the raffle that we’ll be holding on the night.”
The Inspire and Achieve Foundation inspires unemployed young people to work towards a positive future by providing them with the outreach, mentoring, training and support they need to move towards employment or education.
Its outreach activities include the Impact boxing programme and Strike football sessions. These are free to unemployed people aged 16 to 24 and enable them to participate in sports each week.
Inspire and Achieve Director, Pippa Carter said: “We’re very grateful to be included in the line-up of charities that The Derbyshire Hotel wishes to support and we hope that people will join us in supporting the charity while having an entertaining evening.”
For businesses wishing to contribute a prize, and to purchase tickets to the ball people should contact either Angela Kemp or Shelly Page at the Derbyshire Hotel by calling 01773 812000.
