People making Wills are being asked to think about helping Nottinghamshire Hospice through a legacy.
Last year, 913 volunteers gave their time to the work of Nottinghamshire Hospice, Nottingham. People were shop volunteers, and took on roles in day therapy and fundraising, while corporate groups took part in one-off volunteer days.
Last year the charity made 5,011 home visits to 508 patients and their families in their own home. In the Mansfield and Sutton area, care was provided care to around 116 patients.
While people can donate to the hospice through a button on the website, members of the public are being asked to remember the hospice in their Wills.
The hospice said all donations were welcome — £28 provides an hour of care; £160 provides day therapy to a patient for rehabilitative care, such as complementary therapies or physiotherapy; £280 provides overnight care to a patient in their own home.
Richard Howard, a partner at Fidler & Pepper Solicitors, which has offices in Mansfield and Sutton, specialises in Wills. He said: “Making a Will is one of the most important things people can do in life.
“If they can help the hospice too when they write their Will, that is such a good thing to do and it will help ensure that the hospice can continue to carry out its important work.”
