High Sheriff Award tribute

One of the county’s most prestigious awards has been presented to the staff of Nottinghamshire County Council in recognition of “their great and valuable services to communities” during the Covid 19 pandemic.

Dame Elizabeth Fradd, High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire, said the High Sheriff Award to the council was recognising the combined dedicated effort of all staff over the last 12 months.

Dame Elizabeth said: “Given the complexity and size of the organisation, I am making the Award to all employees of the Council from the CEO downwards regardless of position or role.

“This includes the CEO department,  Adult Social Care and Public Health, Children and Families Services , those involved with Investment and Growth and those delivering services such as highways, transport, waste, trading standards , culture, school catering, registration, community support and emergency planning.

“The collective effort of them all, is that they have significantly enhanced the life of residents and people across the County during what has been an immeasurably difficult period. I am proud of them all and delighted to be able to thank them in this way for what they have achieved”.

Among the other winners was Nina Dauban, chief executive of Mansfield-based Nottinghamshire Community Foundation since 2008, who supports each High Sheriff to find some of the most vulnerable communities to be supported and recognised.
