Helping victims of earthquake disaster

Posted onPosted on 13th Oct

A Mansfield business joined the humanitarian effort to supply aid to people in Morocco affected by a devastating earthquake.

A fundraiser was organised at Mayborn’s site in the town after the disaster claimed more than 3,000 lives and left thousands of people injured or displaced.

Mayborn Group, which has a factory in Tangier, Morocco, said its main priority was to do something to support its colleagues.

Almost £100 was raised through an onsite bake sale, while a bin was filled with clothing donations.

Two workers from the Tangier factory who were visiting the Mansfield base, Walid Tsouli and Soufiane Elhallaoui (pictured), helped to coordinate the fundraiser.

Mayborn Group, parent company of the Tommee Tippee® baby brand, also organised the donation of more than 7,800 baby products, sending sleep bags, cups, soothers, nappy bins, bibs, breast pads, and more to help those families most in need.

The company thanked everyone who supported the fundraising with their generous baking and donations, and said hoped the money and products would benefit those who lives were left in turmoil by the earthquake.
