Mansfield Building Society has given £500 to Woodhouse Colts FC towards the cost of kit and equipment for its disability teams.

The funds were awarded as part of The Mansfield’s Community Support Scheme.

Woodhouse Colts has two disabled teams with volunteers helping more than 50 children with Asperger’s syndrome and cerebral palsy.

Richard Weatherer, Woodhouse Colts secretary and development officer, said: “We are grateful to The Mansfield because these funds will help to keep the projects running.

“The sessions enable the players to develop skills and enjoy a positive, socially-rewarding experience that team sports provide.”
