Jim Kay, the illustrator of some of the Harry Potter books, visited his former school while returning to Mansfield for the town’s Music and Drama Festival.

Berry Hill Primary School headmaster Ben Trenowden said it was a pleasure to show Jim around, and hear some of his memories.

Jim named some of his former teachers, and remembered his old classroom at the school. He spoke of sports day and how the school used to be involved in the festival, adding: “It was a great pleasure to visit my old school and it brought back some happy memories.”

Now president of Mansfield Music and Drama Festival, he attended drama sessions at the end of March and hoped to return again for the music sessions in late April.
