Pupils at Kirkby’s Greenwood Primary and Nursery School rose to the challenge of recreating the waterfall of poppies at the Tower of London.
History co-ordinator Harriet Evans-Hawkins, who set the challenge, said: “We had lots of contributions from our extended Greenwood family, ranging from knitted poppies to 3D pens, clay creations, drawings, and upcycled water bottle poppies.
“We were overwhelmed as a school with the number of poppies we received.
The Greenwood waterfall was put together by teaching assistants Claire Hodgkinson and Anna Pearson.
Harriet added: “They certainly delivered with our very own Greenwood waterfall to pay our respects to the fallen soldiers.
“This was displayed at the front of our school for all parents and children to see.”
