Golden year ahead for Inner Wheel district chairman

Posted onPosted on 29th Sep

Jacquie Chapman, past president of Kirkby Inner Wheel Club, was recently inducted as chairman of District 22.

The event was held at the Holiday Inn, South Normanton, and attended by 120 members from the surrounding area, including many from her own club.

She said 2021 to 2022 is a special time for the district because it is 50 years since Inner Wheel was formed.

Jacquie, pictured centre, reminded guests that the first objective of Inner Wheel is to promote true friendship and that became more important during the last 18 months with Covid restrictions.

She encouraged members to invite their friends and neighbours to join their local club and help restore their confidence in a post-pandemic world.

During her time in office Jacquie will be raising money for MIND and representatives of the charity gave a short talk about their work.

To celebrate the forthcoming golden anniversary members of Kirkby Inner Wheel wore golden fascinators made by Lynda Moor.

The club’s in-person meetings have resumed at The Summit Centre, Kirkby, on the second Monday of the month. New members are welcome.
