A team from a Sutton opticians took on a challenging trek in aid of the Royal National Institute for Blind People (RNIB).

Five members of staff from Specsavers in the Idlewells Shopping Centre completed the South Downs trek, raising more than £1,800 for the RNIB.

They set off from Firle Beacon in West Sussex at 8am, finishing their hilly 30km walk at around 5pm in Eastbourne.
Further fundraising activities included a raffle in store to win a summer hamper, a bake sale and tombola, and a book sale of books donated by the team.

Store director Nigel Davidson said: “It was hard work on the day for the team, particularly with warm weather. It’s wonderful to have raised such a significant sum for the RNIB.

“A huge thank you to everyone who supported them.”
