Funding chance for Warsop community groups

Posted onPosted on 7th Mar

Community and voluntary groups based in the parish of Warsop are being urged to apply for grants from a local funding initiative.

The RoLo Community Chest is a joint effort by the Big Warsop Partnership and the Rotary Club of Warsop and Shirebrook.

A total of £9,000 is available each year in grants of up to £500 and the Spring funding is due to be awarded in April. The deadline for applications is 31st March and applications can be made here or email  [email protected]

Groups applying for funding should be registered charities or constituted (have a set of rules) or be working towards one – and be aiming to improve their community.

The community chest funding aims to help local groups achieve their aims and goals more successfully, and also share and celebrate achievements.

President of Warsop Rotary, Geoff Milnes, said: “This is an opportunity for local groups to get some well deserved financial support to help get them back on their feet as we come out of the Covid pandemic”.

Already the fund has helped many local community groups by responding to a range of requests for funding. These include:

  • New tables and chairs were funded for The Shed and Warsop Youth and Community.
