Funding boost for Mansfield audio production business

Posted onPosted on 26th Oct

A Mansfield-based audio production company working on concerts, tours and events is to receive £126,247 in the second tranche of funding from the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund.

Originally focusing on Reggae and Indian music scenes, Entertainment Sound Specialists has since worked with artists including Amy Winehouse, Faithless, Jarvis Cocker and Ghostpoet, supporting festivals including Nottingham Riverside Jazz Festival, Nottingham Mela and Latitude.

The funding will cover overhead costs while allowing staff to train and develop technology, taking advantage of extra time available during the coronavirus pandemic to develop niche cultural support skills.

In Nottinghamshire the fund is investing £892,498 to help save nine theatres, galleries, performance groups, arts organisations, museums and local venues facing the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.

Among the other recipients is Nottingham Museums, which has received £180,000 towards its work at Wollaton Hall and Newstead Abbey, among others.
