Full line-up announced ahead of Sutton Christmas Light Switch-on event

As part of Sutton’s annual Christmas celebrations, the full line-up for this week’s switch-on has been announced.

Out of the Box Events, on behalf of Ashfield District Council, is aiming to bring all the joy of the festive season back to Sutton, Kirkby, and Hucknall this year.

Sutton’s event, sponsored by EveryoneActive, will kickstart festivities on Thursday, 21st November in the Market Place car park. Running from 4pm to 7.30pm,  it will include a Christmas market, fun fair, and hot food and drinks to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.

Schools from across Ashfield and community groups will be providing the entertainment for the switching on of  Christmas lights throughout November and December.

Santa will be arriving on his sleigh to greet young visitors thanks to Sutton Rotary Club and ATTFE.

The confirmed line-up on stage for Sutton:
4pm – Leamington Primary Academy School Choir
4.30pm – Dalestorth School Choir
5pm – St Mary Magdalene School Choir
5.25pm – Croft Primary School Choir
5.45pm – Regency Dance Centre
6pm – Star and Stage Dance School
6.30pm – Priestsic School Choir
7pm – Lights switch on Chairman ADC
7.10pm – Breanna (Singer)
At 7pm, the lights, which include the Christmas tree, town centre lights, and 3D feature lights will be officially switched on.

Following Sutton’s Christmas celebration, two further events will take place in Kirkby and Hucknall:

Kirkby Light Switch-on, supported by Kirkby Rotary Club: Thursday 28 November – Kirkby Plaza, Kirkby.
Hucknall Light Switch-on supported by Hucknall Rotary Club: Wednesday 4 December – Hucknall Market Place car park and Hucknall High Street.

Coun Helen-Ann Smith, deputy council leader, said: “Christmas is a magical time of year and the switching on of the Christmas lights is always a popular fixture in the Ashfield calendar.

“Sutton Town Centre will look fabulous when the Christmas lights are on and for me it is the start of the festive celebrations. We are excited to see the buzz of excitement in Sutton on Thursday and I’m looking forward to seeing you all come down and join us for this.”
