From Samworth to India

Students and staff from the Samworth Church Academy, Mansfield, attended the Round Square conference in India.

Logan Mapp, Jack Hardman, Andrew Smith, Wiktoria Bernat, Olivia Bonser-Storey, principal Mr Barry Found, Mr Zak Needham and Mrs Angela Owen flew to Indore for the event, hosted by Daly College.

Round Square is a worldwide network of innovative schools in 40 countries across five continents. The conference lasted seven days and was attended by 360 delegates from schools around the world.

Students attended cultural workshops including yoga, dancing, singing, puppetry, storytelling and terracotta workshop Kalpavriksha.

They spent time creating Indian crafts such as Warli art, Madhubani paintings and textile (Bandhini) printing.

Delegates also took part in Barraza meetings, team work activities and listened to keynote speakers.
