Free physical activity advice and taster sessions

Posted onPosted on 27th Dec

Mansfield District Leisure Trust is running a free drop-in day at the Four Seasons Shopping Centre on January 12th, from 9am-5:30pm.

Sports and exercise experts will be on hand at the shopping centre’s community hub – The Hive – providing guidance on how to get active and stay in shape.

It’s hoped this day will allow the community the opportunity to find out how to start getting active, find new activities and have a chat about what is best for them.

Carolyn Hallam, sports and community development manager for the trust, said: “We’re looking forward to our day at the Hive. It’s a great venue for the kind of drop-in session we’ve got planned.

“So if you’re out shopping in town on January 12th, pop into the Hive at the Four Seasons Shopping Centre for some free advice and to try out some of the fun activities we’ve got planned.”

Geoff Waller, Chair of the Mansfield District Leisure Trust, said: “This free advice day is very much part of what the trust is all about. Our leisure centres are great places for the whole community and it’s important that we also offer something for everyone, whatever their age, ability and level of fitness.

“January is a good month to start making healthy changes to your routine, so we hope the Hive is buzzing with people on January 12th.”

The Hive is the Four Seasons’ new community centre. It’s free to use and open to local organisations for all types of meeting and get-togethers.

The Leisure Trust run leisure centres in Mansfield, the exercise referral scheme and various community sports activities.
