Following the success of the BIG Ashfield Spring Clean and Bag It! the district council has announced details about its Skip Into Summer initiative.

Flying Skips will be stopping at 80 different locations across the district, go to www.ashfield.gov.uk/skipintosummer

The first Saturday (25th July) will cover parts of Sutton in Ashfield as well as Skegby and Stanton Hill.

The following weeks will then cover Kirkby and Annesley (1st August); Hucknall (8th August); Selston, Jacksdale, Underwood and surrounding villages (15th August); before ending in Sutton and Huthwaite (22nd August)

Coun Jason Zadrozny, leader of Ashfield District Council, said: “I am so pleased to be able to announce our latest campaign. Residents know how committed we are to making Ashfield a place people are proud to live, work and visit.

“We’ve not only continued to deliver all our waste services during lockdown, we’ve collected an extra bag as part of Bag It! This year’s BIG Spring Clean was our most successful yet and Skip Into Summer will provide residents with yet another opportunity to get rid of excess waste for free.

“The Flying Skips will be out across the entire District. We’ll be collecting general waste, bulky items, furniture, old toys, garden waste, if you can get it to us then we’ll collect it!

“We are thankful for all your support during lockdown, and we will continue to go above and beyond to make Ashfield a place you can be proud of.

“Social distancing measures will be in place in line with government guidelines and we will ask all residents to respect these measures.”
