Free bipolar disorder support sessions launching in Mansfield

Posted onPosted on 6th Oct

An organisation that supports people facing the challenges of bipolar disorder, and their friends and family, is to launch free support sessions in Mansfield from November.

The Bipolar Lift is on a mission to uplift and empower those affected by bipolar disorder — a complex mental health condition characterised by extreme mood swings, ranging from manic highs to depressive lows.

The unpredictability of the mood shifts can be distressing for individuals and their loved ones.

That is where The Bipolar Lift said it can step in as a support network, understanding the unique struggles faced by those affected. It offers resources — giving help on finance and debt, welfare issues, employment advice, wellbeing, one-to-one group sessions, day trips — and creates a safe space for sharing experiences.

Founder Imran Akram said: “We challenge stigmas head-on, dispelling myths and fostering open conversations.

“Many people may not fully comprehend the intricacies of bipolar disorder, its symptoms, or available treatments.

“Through workshops, webinars, and informational resources, The Bipolar Lift can bridge this knowledge gap, ensuring that those affected by the disorder have access to accurate information. This knowledge empowers individuals to seek help, make informed decisions, and advocate for themselves effectively.”

Anyone wanting to take part in the Mansfield sessions should contact Nahida Choudhary on 07534138512, email [email protected] or go to www.bipolarlift.org
