Shoppers can look forward to a sweet treat in aid of a good cause this weekend, when Four Seasons Shopping Centre, Mansfield, holds a bake sale bonanza to raise money for charity.

Colleagues at the Mansfield shopping centre have been busily baking buns, biscuits, cupcakes and sponges for Saturday’s event in support of John Eastwood Hospice Trust, the centre’s nominated charity of the year.

“We wanted to give our customers the chance to help us choose a charity for us to work with, so earlier this year we invited the people of Mansfield to suggest good causes close to their hearts,” said Rebekah O’Neill, centre manager at Four Seasons.

“John Eastwood Hospice does some incredible work in the region and we’re absolutely delighted that they have been selected to benefit from our in-centre fundraising this year.”

The bake sale is the first activity that will help raise much-needed funds for the charity and Rebekah said everyone was looking forward to hitting the kitchen and cooking up a treat.

“The team here have all been showing off their baking skills, and we’ll be joined by staff from the hospice on the day who have also been busy baking,” she said.

“All the money we raise from selling the cakes and bakes will go to help the hospice continue organising and delivering care to patients and families, both at the hospice itself and in the wider community.”

Rebekah said Sweet Occasions Catering, based in Sutton-in-Ashfield, had also donated 100 cupcakes to the effort. “We will have a lot of tasty treats on offer, and we’re hoping this event will be as successful as our previous bake sales,” said Rebekah.

“Representatives from the hospice will also be here in the centre to discuss the work they do and how all the money raised will be used to help people in and around the area,” she said.

The Four Seasons bake sale in aid of John Eastwood Hospice Trust will be held at the shopping centre on Saturday, 20 August, from 9am until 5.30pm or until all the cakes have been sold.
