Ashfield District Council is consulting on its new Local Plan, something that will affect the lives of everyone living and working in Ashfield, and Teversal, Stanton Hill and Skegby Neighbourhood Forum has arranged a meeting for residents to find out more.
Ashfield District Council’s Forward Planning Team will present the new plan at an open meeting at Teversal Manor Room on 2nd March, at 7pm.
The forum has asked planning consultant Helen Metcalfe to lead the questioning.
The meeting will be open to anyone from the area who wants to learn more about the Local Plan and how it would affect them.
The Neighbourhood Forum is bringing forward its own, separate Neighbourhood Plan, which it planned to be publicly available in draft form in late spring.
Public consultation sessions on that will take place so that residents and businesses can give their reactions and feedback.
The Neighbourhood Plan will work alongside ADC’s Local Plan in regulating development in the area.
Once made, the Neighbourhood Plan would become part of the planning framework for Teversal, Stanton Hill and Skegby for at least the next 15 years.
Neighbourhood forums may be put on the same footing as parish councils and have to be consulted on all planning applications.
Membership to the local forum is open to anyone living or working in Skegby, Stanton Hill and Teversal. As well as planning, it will look at other issues such as traffic, regeneration, heritage, preserving green space and access to countryside.
